The focus is not on dates, calendar knowledge or decorative ideas for celebrations, but rather
thresholds: times when something begins, matures, ends, returns or seeks to be reordered.

The introduction explores the Wheel of the Year, nature spirituality, folk magic, magical times of nature,
ritual rhythms, the language of the altar, and the seasons as a spiritual order. The book draws on a
pagan-Druidic approach, whilst remaining open-minded, non-dogmatic and suitable for everyday life. The aim is not to
prescribe a particular belief, but rather to help readers observe the seasons with dignity, clarity and consistency.

The main section is devoted to the eight major festivals of the annual cycle: Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnasadh, Mabon
and Samhain. Each festival is described as a threshold in its own right, with its inner meaning, its messengers of nature, plants, animal symbols,
elements, ritual sequences, minimal forms, standard rituals, festive ritual variations, corrections, after-effects and integration into everyday life.

Particular emphasis is placed on ritual practice. The book not only explains what a festival represents, but also how
it can actually be conducted: with arrival, alignment, symbols, action, sealing, conclusion and afterglow.
This creates a repeatable format that works just as well when time is short as it does when the festival is organised on a larger scale.

In addition, the book covers altar changes, the Twelve Days of Christmas, nature’s harbingers of the seasons, the Twelve Nights,
the conclusion of festivals and cultural links to celebrations such as Christmas, Easter, Whitsun, All Saints’ Day, Shrovetide,
Harvest Festival and Valentine’s Day. Cultural reflections such as Diwali, Nowruz, Obon, Día de los Muertos
and Holi are also included as further insights into human festive and transitional culture.
